Pro Golf TipsLose Your Slice: "The Gate Drill"
 Problem:
The golfer swings the club from Òoutside to inÓ, cutting across the ball and hitting a slice. If you see your divots pointing well left of your target, this drill is for you.
Drill Setup:
Tee up a ball. Picture your target line. This is the line that extends through the golf ball on both sides. Place one ball just to the outside of target line about 2 feet back. Place the second ball about 4 inches on the inside of the target line, this time about 2 feet along the target line in the opposite direction.
Drilling Procedure:
You have now setup up a gate that will encourage your club to swing along the proper path. Begin by making practice swings and hitting the tee only. Be sure to miss the balls on the ground. Next, tee up balls and hit shots swinging through the gate. This will ensure an ÒinsideÓ swing path. You must also manage the clubface. If the clubface is open you will only hit push fades. Make sure you can also get the ball to draw back.
